Day 1 Wrap-Up, Day 2 Begins

Day One went pretty darn well, all things considered. I made it an easy day, and it was made even easier by the support of my Mom who helped me make dinner (a real blessing with a 5 mo old in the house!)

I was tempted by sugar at least 20 times. I wanted sweetener in my coffee. I wanted that one last diet soda I forgot to drink the day before (dang it!) I wanted munchies -- there are still leftover chips in the house, and Lord knows I wanted to make some cookies! But here's what I did have:
  • Oatmeal with a little milk and sliced banana
  • Leftover kuku (a type of vegetable pie, like a crustless quiche)
  • Leftover Mujadarrah (Lentil/br. rice/oniony goodness!)
  • Dandelion tea
  • Coffee
  • Coffee
  • Espresso in milk
  • Celery and peanut putter
  • Raw sugar snap peas
  • Homemade chili for dinner (awesomeness!)
  • Homemade SCD almond muffins substituting the juice of one orange for the honey
  • An apple
  • Coffee
I ate a LOT actually, but better that than eat processed/refined foods and sugar. Tonight... I'm either making Kasha (buckwheat groats) or this Amazing veggie fried rice recipe I have. Hmm!!! Depends on which one's ingredients look like they will still be fresh in the fridge tomorrow.

Day Two and the Withdrawal Has Begun (either that or I've got a cold.) I can't stop my runny nose. I was HOT this morning when I'm normally cold before the house warm up - even a bit sweaty. I have LOTS of drainage and my nose is about raw from blowing it. This could totally be part of withdrawal (with winter sniffles mixed in) or I really do have a cold! Hard to say yet.

But I am getting a headache! Yesterday I was sugar-pain-free but I've got a cap on my head right now while I'm drinking my coffee. Hmmm, my body will be detoxing over the next two weeks, so it's hard to say the cause just yet.
